ANHRI expressed its relief with the release of the Kuwaiti detainees in the prisons due to the events that took place in Kuwait during the month of October.
The renew judge has decided this morning, Wednesday, October 24, 2012, to release all the stateless detainees and the activist “Ahmed Habib Al-Tamimi” the Chairman of the Committee Kuwaiti Stateless people and the activist “Nawaf Fahad Al-Bader,” Secretary of the Kuwaiti Stateless people, in addition to the activist “Ali Ghadban Anzi” the committee member of Kuwaiti Stateless people, ” Youssef Marzouk Zafairi”, ” Mohammed Khudair Anzi ” on a personal bail, as the prosecutors also decided to release the four young men,” Abdul Aziz Al-Sadoun”, “Omar Ariman”, “Munzer Habib” and “Mubarak Al-dbdab” who were detained because of their involvement in the gathering of “Enough futility” on October 15, 2012, on bail of one thousand dinars per each one of them, as well as the release of the former MPs “Falah Alswag”, “Khalid Tahous” and ” Badr Aldahoum” who were accused violating the constitution on a bail of 5000 dinars per each which comes after the decision of the Criminal Court to re leas them and adjourn the case to November 13.

ANHRI said that “although we welcome the release of the detainees but at the same time we announce our deep indignation of this release which is not full release and the continuing of prosecuting the activists for expressing their opinions or demonstrating peacefully to call for the political and social reforms. ANHRI does not accept any substitutes for the release and dropping all charges pressed on the activists and the citizens as well”.

ANHRI called the Kuwaiti authorities to drop all the charges pressed on the released activists and end these cases forever.

ANHRI “renewed its calls for the immediate release of all prisoners of conscience in Kuwait”.
