Sudan: Three Students murdered and three other are missed in Al-Jazeera university

Cairo December 8, 2012

ANHRI strongly condemns murdering of three students of Al-Jazeera university and their bodies were found in a waterway and three other students are still missing . There are still lost after after the security forces chased due to a protest after the administration’s refusal to exempt Darfurian from university tuition fees in line with the peace agreements.

The conflict of the students with the administration resulted in the murdering of three students and their boides were found in a waterway nearby the university buildings as a result of severe torture. As the torture evidences were clear on the three bodies and three other still missed after the policemen chased them. Then the six murdered and missed students were vanished.

The persistence of the violence which is exercised by the students in the university, the national conference students supported by the police forces assaulted the Darfurians students in Alzeem university in Khartoum on Tuesday December 4, 2012 which resulted in several injuries. As the administration forced the students to pay for the tuition fees they were exempted from in line with the Abuja agreements between the regime and the region in 2005, which led the students to set-in in the university of Khartoum center. The security forces arrested several students, among them:

Mohamed El-Baqer
Mohamed Adam
Abubaker Ahmed Soliman
Mosa Adam Omar
Mohamed Abdulrahman

The authorities arrested two Darfurians students on allegations of damaging a car for the university and the policemen refused releasing them.

ANHRI said that “the authorities torture to the protest students until death is a severe violation to human rights and freedom of expression. It will only worsens the matter after the Sudanese authorities believe it will end the matter for ever or will silence the voices after the Sudanese authorties broken the agreement with Darfurer region”.

ANHRI called to bring the torturers before justice and apply the maximum penalties on them. It also called to release all the detainees and conduct an immediate investigation to bring the involved persons to justice and be abide by the concluded agreements between the regime and Darfurians.
