UAE: an activist was arrested due to supporting the situations of the UAE list of detainees
ANHRI condemns the arrest of Mohamed Salm El-Zomr on Wensday December 5, 2012 by the security forces to join the list of the detainees in UAE without clear charges.
He is an activist on twitter, 18 years old, in the prisons of the state security to join the advocates of human rights and bloggers in the prisons of the state security. There are no charges pressed against them or they were not brought before fair trial, in addition the cut of the news related to many of them and the place of detain is unknown.
In a persistence of the series in dealing of the authorities with the list of UAE detainees which became 64 detainees, the higher federal court on December 6, has expanded Dr. Issa El-Swedi imprisonment for 30 days without new charges. The state security state-security prosecution still bans visiting of the UAE center for studies and media “Mohamed El-Mansoury”, despite the repeated promises made by the officials in the prosecution to arrange a visit to him.
ANHRI said that “arresting the activist would kill the hopes of the UAE rescind its repressive policy and reconsidering his situation from the opinion makers and who call for political and social reforms”.
ANHRI added that instead of holding discussions with the opposition, the regime send them to jail without charges. It also bans visiting them until the regime prepares a list of charges to them. In addition to the other repressive polices used with the detainees families as a kind of pressing them for not calling to know the destiny of their relatives which represented in freezing the finical accounts of the relatives without reasons.
ANHRI called on the international and regional human rights organizations to play more significant role in order to press the UAE regime and release all the opinion and conscience in the UAE prisons.
