UAE: ANHRI Calls on the Authorities to Stop the Mockery Investigations with the Wives of the Emirati Detainees

The Emariti General District Attorney “Salem Saaid Kabish” has announced,on Wednesday January 9, 2013, that the public prosecution had started investigating the leaders women elements official, which called “the women organization”. The General attorney considered it as fundamental part of the general organizational structure which was established by the detainees who are accused of establishing and administrating an organization that aims to seize the power in the state, anti-basic principles of the power and threaten the social peace in an indication to the list of the Emariti detainees which became 74 detainees.
The authorities have started the investigation, unofficially, with the wives of the Emariti detainees on Thursday January 3, 2013 after they were subpoenaed to appear before the public prosecution due to allegations of signing power of attorneys but after that it was declared that they were subpoenaed to be investigations with them.
ANHRI said that general attorney made statements related to the beginning of the investigations with the women and wives of the Emariti detainees, before the end of the investigation with them, proves beyond the reason of doubt that the accusations pressed on women or will be pressed on them are false and fabricated accusations and are far away from reality.
ANHRI said that “investigating the women and wives of the Emariti detainees in addition to pressing such charges on them, are failed attempts from the Emariti regime to improve its image which distorted in the last months after its failure to prove the accusations pressed on the Emariti detainees and the regime resorts to investigate the women in an attempt to prove the accusations”.
ANHRI called on the authorities to end the mockery investigations with the women and announce the accusations and the clear evidences which convict the list of the detainees in addition to bring them before trial in which the guarantees of the fair trials are provided; in case the accusations proved on them.
