Military Prosecution detains Alaa Abd El-Fattah 15 days pending investigations
The Military Prosecution at C28 has decided today to detain the blogger and Internet activist Alaa Abd El-Fattah 15 days pending investigations for protesting the legitimacy of the Military Prosecution, and rejecting to be interrogated by it. He refused to cooperate because civil cases do not fall within the jurisdiction of an exceptional military prosecution.
The Military Prosecution had summoned Alaa Abd El-Fattah on charges relating to “inciting against the Armed Forces” and “inciting the Maspero events”. Curiously, the name of the martyr Mena Daniel appeared in the investigations as a defendant in the same events.
