Zainab al-khawaja and Masoomaal-Sayed released on residence

Public Prosecution released Zainab al-Khawaja, blogger and rights activist, Masooma al-Sayed, activist, on place of residence. However, the prosecution is working on the file of the case to be referred to the competent criminal court. al-Khawaja and al-Sayed are tried on charges of “gathering” and “assaulting a policewoman and gathering”, respectively.
Security services had detained al-Khawaja and dragged her on the street for her participation in a peaceful protest in Manama on15 December. She was referred to the prosecution which booked her and al-Sayed for 7 days pending investigations. They were interrogated again today and the prosecution released them on place of residence.
