The Saudi Security Forces Suppressed a Peaceful Demonstrations Using Ballets, led to deaths

Cairo, July 9 of 2012

ANHRI condmns the brutal power used, by the Saudi security forces, in dealing with the peaceful demonstrations in “Qataif”, yesterday. The demonstrators protested against the arrest of “Nemr Baqer Nemr”, a Shiekh and an activist.

The village of “Awamiah”, which is located in the territory of “Al-Qatif”, which reside by the Shitte majority, witnessed yesterday a protest against the Saudi regime because of arresting the Shiite Shiekh and the activist “Nemr Baqer Nemr”. The activists posted a pictures of his arrest and the tortures he faces, which resulted in deep injuries. That pictures have been taken in the car of “Nemr”, in which he appears covered by a piece of white sheet, full of spots of blood. “Mohamed Nemr”, his brother, said that the police arrested him while he was coming back by his car from a farm to his hous in “Al-Qatif”, then he was translocated to the hospital, but he is still under arrest for being charged of arising discord.

The Saudi security forces meet this demonstration with an extreme violence. They used the bullets to disperes the protesters, which resulted in the killing of two and tens of injuries.

Al-Qatif, with the major Shiite populations, witnesses a continued demands of social and political reformations as well as demanding the stop of the continuing hostility against the Shiites in (Saudi-Arabia). They future demand for letting them practice their religion freely and the release of the  political detainees from (Qatif). In addition to a demonstration to protest against the Saudi rule to infanticide the Baharini revolution and support the tyranny their.

ANHRI said ” the practices of the Saudi regime against the people of “Al-Qatif”, are described as a violations against to all of the human rights, all the human traditions and values and in-contrast with the Islamic religion, which the Saudi regime claims to practice the Islamic legislation”.

ANHRI emphasizes its rejection to the Saudi regime politics in the suppression of rights, using the excessive violence in dealing with the peaceful demonstrators and the arrest of the human rights’ activists without clear charges, but to express their opinions and call for reformations. Such polices are practiced in the light of the international overlook and silence, while the Saudi regime violates all the international treaties and covenants as well as the recognized norms of the human rights. Such silence reached to the limits of collusion, due to its economic ties with the Saudi regime.

ANHRI called the international society and all of the concerns parties of human rights, to expose the suppressive Saudi regime practices and to press it, in order to stop such barbarous practices.
