ANHRI said, three months passed since “Andrew Aunsi Shokri” director, filed a complaint to the public prosecutor on a religious discremination violating the law. He was fired because he is a Christian, after the channel decided to shift to be Islamic, in last February.

On Feburary 20, 2012, Andrew was surprised by a meeting in the channel, in which he works since 2012, the administration told him that the new direction of the channel will be Islamic. Although he accepted that as he is a professional director, but the chief-executive officer told him to find another place to work in and fired him!

Although it is been three months since the Egyptian Christian filed a complaint with the Attorney General no. 1149 of 2012 petitions, the Attorney General, the investigation has not been conducted in such a flagrant violation of the law, which includes discrimination because of religion and the Waste of the principle of citizenship and equality as well as being a reality wrongful termination blatant.

ANHRI said, “We are facing a reality wasted the equality and the citizenship of the principle, which represents a breach of the law in its clearer pictures, does it will find the address in Egypt after the revolution? We hope so, and to reach the late justice, better than not reach it, we are waiting for the Public Prosecution. “

It is noteworthy that the channel granted Andrew a certificate of experience that he had been working efficiently and professionally and that he was an “excellent” in team work, does not negate the reality of the discrimination against him, but condemns this channel, which we hope to remedy that serious violations that practiced against the Egyptian citizen because of religion and feeds the fears of widespread discrimination on the basis of religion, after the rise of Islamism in Egypt, which is a manifestation of that.
