 ANHRI welcoms the release of “Meshal Malek El-Sobah”, on Sunday night of July 29, 2012, after being arrested for four days by the security of the state due to an article and blogging on the social network “twitter” in which he criticizes the corruption in Kuwait.

 Kuwaiti security forces arrested him on Thursday July 26, 2012 from Kuwait International Air Port once he arrived from Saudi Arabia. He was taken to the security of the state department and they accused him of “offense against the Emir”, due to criticizing the political situation in the country and the government performance. Then he was released on Sunday July 26, 2012.

“Meshal Malek El-Sobah” is known for his criticizing political views to the method of Kuwait ruling and also known for calling for the a real reforms in the country. During the last days of the arrest, he criticized the Kuwaiti government and accused it of corruptions. In addition to, he criticizes the regime of the country and being only for one branch of the “Sobah” family.

 He mentioned in a blogging on “twitter” the Kuwaiti authority suffers from a lot of diseases in the light of corrupted lining that restrict the people’s will. He declared that he will run for Kuwait national assembly elections after the amendment of the current constitution which contains a lot of loopholes. He said elections cannot be conducted in the light of the current constitution as it will direct the country into a dark tunnel. He swears that he will open the file of the current and previous prime minister and all the corrupted, who benefited and their sons.

 Their are some fears that the Kuwaiti government forced him to close his twitter account, as ANHRI’s trial to reach his account to make sure of the release news or the facts, particularly, he did not post anything new since July 25, 2012.

 ANHRI said that the arrest of him deemded to be a message directed from the authorities to the activists and oppoisition, which says that the authorities will silence every person, whatever his position, whoever critize the country’s management style, which contradicts with the means of the modern country and democratic values, in which Kuwait in the past enjoyed some of it.
