Syria: an artist dies due to torture, Bashar Al-Assad shall be punished as criminal against humanity

ANHRI received the news about “Wael Qaston” death, with a deep sorrow. He is a Syrian sculptor who died due to brutal torture exercised by the Syrian regime against the detainees of opinion makers and demonstrators who call for freedom.
The forty years old “Qaston”, was detained in prison affiliated to the security branches in “Hams” in the middle of Syria. When he was nearly deing, due to the brutal torture, he was send to the military hospital in “Hams”, in which they told his family about his death and they should take him from the mentioned hospital”.
He is from “Marmarita”, a town in Homs country side. He was one of the most significant and talented syrian sculptors. The women issues were the key of his art works, he participated in the revolution at the beginning of the revolution and as Christian, he revoked all of “Asad” allegations that the revolution has sectarian dimension.
ANHRI said “this incident assures beyond the reason of doubt that the regime is going to commit his brutal crime as long as no one will account it, in the light of the international neglect”.
ANHRI added “the protection have to be provided to the civilians from the butcher dictator “Asad” and punishing him for all of his crimes as criminal against humanity”.
