Court of Appeal endorses Freedom of Opinion
Acquittal of Gamal Eid ,ANHRI executive, and the bloggers Alaa and Manal from the false insult and libel accusation from Abd Al-Fattah Mourad.

ANHRI declares that today the court of appeal in Dokki, Giza has finally settled the case fabricated by Abd Al-Fattah Mourad , accusing Alaa , Manal and Gamal Eid, lawyer and ANHRI executive of insult and libel, in vengeance for revealing his stealing of ANHRI report about freedom of using the internet in the Arab world, and publishing ANHRI material in a book he claimed of his own. Court of appeal upheld the acquittal ruling on 31\12\2008 and rejected the prosecution appeal and the civil case.
Abd Al-Fattah Mourad, a judge from Alexandria, has made up an insult and libel case against ANHRI executive , Alaa and Manal. Acquittal ruling was issued in winter 2008. However , Mourad instead of abiding to the law, and showing regret for stealing copyrighted material he alienated and was under the illusion that his strong ties with the minister of justice will pave the way for a chain of cases against the two bloggers and ANHRI. A biased prosecution attitude was quite appalling as all communiqués against Mourad from ANHRI were sluggishly processed. The quick and careful investigations regarding Mourad's communiqués against ANHRI made him think it is a win – win situation.
The unashamed making up and malicious lies swamping the case led the court of appeal to rule for final acquittal for ANHRI executive and both bloggers.
On the other hand , two years ago, ANHRI filed a communiqué against Mourad. The prosecution report is kept in a drawer in Alexandria along with justice and fairness that did not know the way to these cases. It has grown to ANHRI's knowledge that investigations has reached the conclusion that this judge has stolen tens of pages of ANHRI report and claimed of his own, which is a felony that exposes him to prison and fine. Yet, there are hidden strings pulling this judge away of the hands of justice.
ANHRI decided to publish a booklet documenting all fabricated cases from Mourad against itself, bloggers, papers and activists who know him well for his ongoing attacks on freedom of expression . AHRI booklet will also include documents revealing clear bias of certain entities that supported Mourad instead of supporting transparent investigations with a judge accused of such a disgraceful accusation. These entities deliberately hindered transparent investigations in an attempt to undermine ANHRI , an institute backing freedom of expression, that is Mourad's first enemy.
