    About Fayoum

    Fayoum is an oasis in the western desert 90 km south west of Cairo. It is a northern governorate of Upper Egypt. Surrounded by sand from 3 sides except from the east where it is connected with Beni Soueif. Fayoum is 6068 sq.km. its population is 2,575,740 2007 census, distributed in 6 cities with 6 counties and 61 sub counties and 163 villages. The counties are Fayoum – Senorus – Ibshway – Atsa – Tamia – Youssef Al Seddiq
