Saudi Arabia "The foreign affairs Ministry employs women for the first time this year"
2/3/2005
The decision of the Saudi foreign minister comes along with opening the door for women employment in Saudi Arabia.
Price Abdullah Ben Abdul Aziz ordered the government last year to begin planning for women employment. But the reports coming from Saudi Arabia says that the progress is very slow in this regard.
The number of women represents 50% of the Saudi colleges graduated students, but only represents 5% of the labour force.
The labour minister Gauzy Al-Qusiby made disturbance when declared that his ministry faces difficulties in employing women as they demand separate offices.
On the other hand many women see this statement a mere excuse for not employing women.
