Departure of Pervez Musharraf, a Dictator Departure
19/8/2008
He should have been accounted and prosecuted, for all what he committed of violations against the Pakistani people.
But Pakistan, which is close to Arab in its administration fashion, is also far –as Arab government- from the principle of accountability, where the governor is combined of two equal parts God and Tyranny.
He departed and quitted in a way that may save his face, and preserve the right to Pakistani people to have the ability to force a dictator to quit.
A quit that keep on the victory of judiciary and right to independence, Pakistani lawyers’ struggle to be appreciated, against a president that gave himself all of the competencies and powers, but all this could not protect him from his nation’s antipathy.
The military commander had presided over for 9 years, before he quit semi-voluntarily, and semi- compulsory, according to the will of the people, the “independent” parliament, and the “independent” judiciary.
Although he was unprosecuted, the quit of Musharraf is a step forward, bearing in mind that such governors do not give up effortlessly, despite all of their crimes they commit against their nation.
