Blogger Mohamed Khairi is released
The prosecutor of Fayoum city ordered today the release of blogger Mohamed Khairi who runs Gar Shkal blog ensuring his place of residence.
As a prosecutor charges him of the following:
- Making use of the democratic atmosphere prevailing in the country to overthrow the regime.
- Belonging to group established against law and the Constitution.
- possession of leaflets calling for lifting the siege on Gaza

the court approved the appeal against the arrest of Hossam Al Wakeel and order his release
South Cairo Criminal Court number 15 accepted today the appeal filed by the Legal Aid Unit for Freedom of Expression at the Arab network for Human Rights Information against the arrest order of Hossam Al Wakeel, reporter of Addustour newspaper and ordered his release.
However, the Legal Aid Unit still fears objection to be made by Minister of the Interior against the court's decision within fifteen days in accordance with law.

state security forces Arrest blogger Mohamed Khairi
State security forces has arrested today blogger Mohamed Khairi who runs " Gar Shkal" http://garshkal.blogspot.com" " blog from his home and taken to state security headquarter in Fayoum, city .Khairi has neither been interrogated nor released till now.
It worth mentioning that blogger Khairi was arrested by state security forces for his participation in Gaza strip relief campaign and released the beginning of this month.

A court ordered to uphold the case against Abdel Halim Kandee and others
Cairo criminal court chamber 19 in Al tagamou Al-Khamis ordered today to uphold both the criminal and civil cases raised by chief of board of directors of Pilgrimage Facilitation Association in Qalyobia city against journalists Ahmed Atif and Abdel Halim Kandee , former editor-in chief of " Al-Karama " newspaper on insult charges of disseminating news, and temporary civil compensation of 2001 LE .

Postponing the Hearing on the case of Fahd al-Qarni to January
The Court of western al-Amana postponed –today- the trial of the artist Fahd Al Qarni to 6 January 2009, to allow the defense committee to acquire a copy of the presidential directions to close the case file.
The prosecutor claimant admitted his knowledge of the issuance of the decision to release al-Qarni, but the public prosecution did not receive a copy of.

Suspending the case raised against Abdel Halim Qandil and Isam Fahmi
The court of Al Agouza misdemeanors court decided to suspend the hearing on the defamation and libel through publishing case, raised by Ahmed Ezz against Abdel Halim Qandil and Isam Fahmi, to the session of 27 November 2008, it is worth’s mentioning that the defense of the accused journalists did not attend the session, for they were not informed legally and properly.

Misdemeanor Court ordered not competent to consider a case against Ibrahim Issa
Boulaq Misdemeanors Court issued today a ruling that its not competent to consider insult allegations raised against Ibrahim Issa, editor-in-chief of " Addustour" newspaper, and Magdi Arafa, journalist working for the same newspaper by Marg police station officer on publishing news about torturing a blind citizen and his family at Marg police station , the court also ordered to refer the case to public prosecutor to be brought before criminal court in accordance with articles 213.216 of criminal code.
