    The administrative court of the state council ,first chamber of individual disputes decided to reject the negative claim to revoke the license of AlManar channel .
    The suit was accepted in form but refused in subject.

    Journalist Samir Tarek Samir of “AlKarama” released

    State supreme security prosecution decided to release Tarek Samir regarding the case #1014 (under emergency law).
    Tarek is the second defendant in this case. Both Tarek and Emad Fawaz, the prime defendant of the same newspaper were accused of publication and dissemination of false news and false statements that lead to stirring social peace in accordance with the provisions of Article 102 bis and 188 of the Egyptian penal code . They were prosecuted as a result of publishing a report on 17/12/2009 in AlKarama weekly issue #209 on tapping phones of Hamdeen Sabbahi, Amr Moussa, Ayman Nour and Mohamed Al Baradey and another report on the same topic on 24/12/2009 in AlKarama eekly inssue #210.

    Shehtan and Azari Case Adjourned to Feb 5

    The appeal hearing was held at Casa Blanca court for Driss Shehtan editor of Al Michaal weekly and Mostafa Azari manager of the Moroccan Organization for Human Rights in Khneifra in the case filed against them by Amahzon Association. The case was adjourned to 5/2/2010.

    Appeal hearing for Wael Abbas ,Feb. 18

    Hadayek ElQobba misdemeanor court set 18/2/2010 for the first hearing of the appeal to the verdict against blogger Wael Abbas, sentencing him to 6 months imprisonment and a legal bail of LE 500.
    On 11/11/2009, first instance court ruled in absentia to sentence Wael Abbas to 6 months in jail and to bail him LE 500 pounds in the case # 19478/2009, filed against him on 18/4/2009 by Ahmed Maher Aglan brother of the police officer Ashraf Aglan . ANHRI legal aid unit has submitted an opposition to the first instance ruling.

    Today, the Court of Appeal of Casablanca looks into the Amahzon case and the fate publishing manager of Al Mashel

    Today, the 19th of January, 2009, the Court of Appeal of Casablanca will look into case number: 09/1/5782, where the publishing manager of Al Mashel newspaper, Idris Shahtan, and Mostafa Azari are accused in the case of “the scandals of the King’s aunt, Hafsa Amahzon”

    Cairo Criminal Court ,Chamber II ,upheld the release decision of the blogger Hani Nazeer ,owner of the blog "Karz AlHob" . The release decison annuls the arrest warrant issued gainst Hani by the Minister of the Interior

    Casablanca Appeal Court Concludes Prison Sentence Against Rachid Nini And Upholds The Fine

    On 5/1/2010 ,court of appeals in Casablanca concluded the imprisonment sentence and upheld a fine reduction in the case of Rashid Nini and Said Elejail of “AlMasaa” newspaper to 20000 dirhams for each.

    The defense of journalists have appealed to conclude the first instance imprisonment sentence , while prosecutors appealed for execution

    The Court of First Instance sentenced Rachid Nini for 3 months and Said Elejail for 2 months and a fine of 50000 dirhams for the foirst and 30000 for the latter.

    Rachid Nini, was charged with "spreading and forwarding false news," while Said’s charge was ” participating”.

    The case was filed because “AlMasaa” reported on a drug dealer “Triha” and declared that he was intending to reveal the name of an official in the ministry of justice who was involved in drugs trade.

    Kefaya Coordinator Arrested in Protest against Steel Wall and Abu Hassira Festival - Damanhur

    Several members of Kefaya were arrested today in Damanhur during a demonstration against Rafah steel wall and against Abu Hassira’s celebration ,the Jewish annual religious festival where Israelis celebrate it in Egypt at Abu Hassira’s shrine in Damanhur, Behaira.

    Adel AlAttar, Kefaya coordinator of Behaira was arrested and Kefaya member Said Abd El Maksoud as well as many othe activists. Yesterday 4/1/2010, Kefaya movement organized a demonstration in front of Haqqania building in Alexandria against the steel wall built by the Egyptian government at the borders with the occupied Gaza Strip.
